Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler was born September 16, 1971. She is an American comedian and actress. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and Improv Olympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group relocated to New York City in 1996 where their act became a half-hour sketch-comedy series that aired on Comedy Central in 1998. Poehler along with other comedians, created the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In 1998, Poehler joined Saturday Night Live's sketch-comedy crew. She became co-anchor of Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update in 2004 until she left the series in 2008 to appear as Leslie Knope in the sitcom Parks and Recreation. She also performed voice-over roles for the films Shrek the Third, Horton Hears a Who Free Birds, and Inside Out, and the series The Mighty B!, which she also created.
